Contact us for a free, no-obligation listing consultation with a BananaBelt Broker before you list your boat.

Pricing Your Vessel

First, your BananaBelt Broker will ask about your selling motivations.

  • Do you need to sell quickly or are you looking to take your time and sell for the highest price?
  • Are you selling a boat so you can buy a different boat?
  • Are you willing to invest in improvements to increase the value of the vessel?
  • Are you just not using your boat as much as you would like?

Be upfront with your broker about your wants and needs.

Show Your Vessel on Land While You Sell

The first step to working with us is to bring your boat or yacht to our waterfront On-Land Marina Moorage in Anacortes. If bringing your boat to Anacortes is not practical, we’re happy to engage one of our certified captains to pilot your boat to our On-Land Marina. It’s at this facility where we will prep it to list for sale. We’ll give it a short test ride and use our industry exclusive on-water checklist to ensure it is running appropriately for sale. In some cases, we may take it for an extended pre-listing demonstration to examine all the systems are working properly and take on-water photographs and video.

Upon completion of the pre-listing demonstration, we’ll remove your boat from the water with our Sea-Lift self-propelled yacht transport, have the bottom pressure washed and then set up your boat in our On-Land Marina Show Yard to clean, repair and stage it for sale. Interior photos (and/or videos) will then be taken and added to your listing.

Your boat will be shown for sale in our secure On-Land Marina Storage that is much less expensive than in water marina storage, and is much better for your boat and the environment.

Comparative Market Analysis (CMA)

Your BananaBelt Broker will prepare a thorough Comparative Market Analysis (CMA) for you, showing recent comparable boat sales. They will also work with you to understand and pinpoint the unique selling features of your vessel, and will recommend improvements that could help your vessel sell faster and for more money.

Based on your needs, the condition of your boat and the pre-owned boat and motor yacht market, you and your BananaBelt Broker will establish a pricing strategy and marketing plan to get you the best possible result. You will have a clear understanding of the proposed activities and fees always up-front and with absolutely no pressure.

BananaBelt Broker Tip

THERE IS NO “BEST TIME” TO PUT YOUR BOAT ON THE MARKET.

We sell boats year round and average more than a boat and a half sold a week.  There’s no reason to wait to sell your boat until spring. In fact the smart buyers get their boat in the winter so they can make changes and upgrades ahead of Spring and the opening of boating season.  Bring your boat to us to sell any time, year round!

Before you open your boat or yacht to potential buyers, you want to make sure it looks and performs at its best. If you choose, your BananaBelt Broker will connect you with the area’s best marine professionals to help with repairs, improvements, cleaning, and staging.

Listing Plan

A major benefit of listing with BananaBelt is our industry exclusive targeted, Premium Listing Promotions that will help your vessel sell fast and for top dollar. Be sure to ask your BananaBelt Broker about current promotions.

Our Google Ad Word Buying ensures your boat will have premium placement on the most highly trafficked pages on our website, resulting in significantly more views from active buyers in The Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Ask about premium visibility for your vessel as part of the BananaBelt Premium Listing Promotions.

Professional Photos

With BananaBelt, you’ll get professional quality photos and videos showing your boat in its best light. These photos will be used in your digital marketing, as well as in printed flyers. They will be featured on all of the major boat selling sites including Yachtworld.com, Boats.com and BoatTrader.com.

3D Self-Guided Tours

The interactive 3D tour of your boat lets buyers take a virtual tour of every corner of your boat, whether they’re across town or on a different continent. Ask your BananaBelt Broker about premium Listing Packages for your vessel.

Digital marketing

We’ll create a plan of digital ads to promote your boat on search websites like Yachtworld.com and Google. You’ll get shown on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We’ll also run an email marketing campaign, targeting local buying brokers and buyers searching for similar boats in the Puget Sound area.

Periodic Sales Reports

As a BananaBelt client, you’ll enjoy full transparency at every step. Upon request, you’ll receive an email report showing how many people are viewing your vessel and what your BananaBelt Selling Team is doing to sell your boat.

BananaBelt Broker Tip

If we notice you’re getting lots of views and favorites, but no offers, it most often means your boat is priced too high. Your BananaBelt Broker will discuss with you what could be causing the discrepancy.

Accepting an Offer

Your BananaBelt Broker will discuss each offer with you and advise you on the optimal negotiation approach to meet your needs. After you and the buyer agree to the terms of the vessel purchase and sales agreement your broker will continue to work with you through any additional negotiations around vessel surveys or other contingencies in the contract.

Closing the Sale

Your BananaBelt Selling Team will be at the helm with you through the purchase transaction including buyer payment, transfer of the title, as well as registration with the state and US Coast Guard.

Selling Commission

At closing, BananaBelt Boats & Yachts will collect a Selling Commission. BananaBelt retains a portion of the commission and the rest is split between the Selling Broker and Buyers Broker for their work. The actual commission rate and other fees are all determined at the beginning of the listing process so you are not surprised by any unexpected costs.
